BAE Systems is looking for a Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a strong team supporting our government customer. The Systems Engineer SME will:
+ Supervise, coordinate and/or perform additions and changes to network hardware and operating systems, and attached devices, including investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
+ Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network hardware and operating systems including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
+ Troubleshoot at the physical level of the network, working with network measurement hardware and software, as well as physical checking and testing of hardware devices at the logical level working with communication protocols.
+ Participate in planning design, technical review and implementation for new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
+ Perform systems management and integration functions.
+ Exhibiting proficiency with virtualization technologies and network administration.
+ Maintain network infrastructure standards including network communication protocols such as TCP/IP.
+ Provide technical consultation, training and support to IT staff as designated by the government.
+ Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.
+ Perform systems management and integration functions.
+ Responsible for design, deployment, evaluating, testing, certification, patching, addressing interoperability issues, not only of the base storage & backup system, but for all features, components, and application dependencies.
+ Ensures systems are current with approved patches and assists with certification and system accreditation tasks, composes SOPs, and Quick Reference guides for users.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Minimum of 10 years experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
+ Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
+ Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
+ Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
+ Performs the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
+ Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
+ May supervise others.
+ Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
+ Understanding of NIST 800 series publications and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred experience:
+ VMWare vSphere 7
+ Cisco Networking
+ Dell Server, and SAN storage hardware
+ Familiarity with system accreditation and authorization and the FBI's ATO processes
+ Evaluating, documenting, and managing NIST 800-53 control implementations
+ GRC tools (RiskVision, Xacta and JCAM)
Preferred certifications:
+ Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
+ VMWare Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
+ Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
+ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $133333 - $226667
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
