    Job Description

    As a **Community Initiatives Coordinator** , you'll lead collaborative, community-based efforts to improve public health outcomes across Jackson County. You’ll work with local organizations, partners, and residents to identify health priorities, support collective impact initiatives, and promote systems-level solutions. Your work will help shape healthier communities through strategy, facilitation, and evidence-based action.

    What You’ll Do

    + Build and maintain strategic partnerships with community stakeholders

    + Facilitate collaborative processes to address complex public health challenges

    + Support the development and evaluation of community improvement plans

    + Provide technical assistance and guidance on systems thinking and collective impact frameworks

    + Align initiatives with department goals and community health data

    + Contribute to grant writing, reporting, and resource development

    + Coordinate and track progress toward initiative milestones, timelines, and outcomes

    + Ensure cultural relevance in outreach, messaging, and community engagement

    + Support communication efforts and contribute to public-facing reports and materials

    + Collaborate across divisions and support strategic planning and accreditation efforts

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in public health, health promotion/education, or related field

    + 1–2 years of experience leading or facilitating community collaborations

    + Strong understanding of public health theory, community mobilization, and health equity

    + Skilled in group facilitation, systems thinking, and collaborative planning

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    + Strong organizational, analytical, and time management abilities

    + Must meet fleet safety requirements if driving is part of job duties

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in public health or related field

    + 3–4 years of experience in public health community collaboration

    + Experience with adaptive facilitation or human-centered design
