Job Summary
+ Category A - Employee not directly impacting patient care
+ FLSA: Exempt
+ **Job Purpose** : To manage general accounting and budgeting functions assigned by AVP MHS Accounting for Methodist Health System and its hospitals while supervising a professional staff of two. To ensure that financial reporting needs assigned by the AVP MHS Accounting are met and that financial statements present fairly, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and corporate policy, the results of operations. To manage, analyze and account for all MHS Capital and Fixed Asset related activities while also supporting the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System
Education
Bachelor's degree with major in accounting.
Related Work Experience and Other Skills
+ Ability to work overtime as needed.
+ Computer literacy required (advanced Excel or similar spreadsheet capabilities).
+ Must be a team-oriented problem-solver
+ Must be able to analyze complex issues, identify relevant facts and communicate problematic resolution both verbally and in writing
+ Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to interface with a multidiscipline management staff.
+ Must have the aptitude to learn new computer systems skills
+ PC based accounting experience preferred (Workday preferred)
+ Related budgeting experience preferred.
+ Ten key by touch
+ CPA Preferred
+ Previous management experience preferred
+ Hospital accounting experience preferred
+ Work Experience: 5 or more years related work experience
