    The primary duties of University of Washington Athletic Department coaches are to teach, instruct, educate and impart knowledge to student-athletes regarding the rules and fundamentals of their respective sport. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director, the Head Coach, Women’s Golf, will work closely with other coaches and staff with the goal to continuously improve and achieve athletic excellence

     

    **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** Coaching And Training Duties:

    • Establish goals and objectives for the program on a long-range and annual basis.

    • Develop and implement a recruiting plan to attract academically successful and highly skilled student athletes. Organize, plan and conduct practices in accordance with NCAA playing and practice season bylaws. Work collaboratively with strength and conditioning coach regarding the coordination and delivery of a comprehensive training program.

    • Plan and oversee pre-season and off-season training.

    • Work closely with Athletic Trainer regarding prevention and rehabilitation of injuries.

    Financial And Budgeting Duties:

    • Prepare the annual budget request and conduct the program with a focus on fiscal responsibility within approved budgets and department policies and procedures. Oversee the award of financial aid within departmental and / or NCAA limits.

    • Plan for facility needs for the year and submit appropriate requests as necessary.

    Administrative Duties:

    • Oversee the annual competitive schedule. Verify dates, times and contract obligations.

    • Oversee coordination of team travel.

    • Finalize all needs for day-of-game personnel prior to the beginning of the season.

    • Work with Athletic Communications to provide needed statistics, results, quotes, and to meet appropriate deadlines.

    • Maintain program and student-athlete records. Coordinate and cooperate with Student-Athlete Academic Services to ensure eligibility and to encourage academic progress of each student in the program.

    • Administer a program for maintaining continuing communication with former athletes.

    • This position will oversee the assistant coach and director of operations, if applicable, and be responsible for all hiring/firing, training, task delegation, performance evaluations and time sheet approvals for these roles.

    Equipment Responsibilities:

    • Work with equipment room staff regarding inventory and the need to replace and order equipment and uniforms.

    • Oversee the maintenance and safety of equipment and facilities for the sport. Report need for repairs to the appropriate administrator.

    Public Relations Duties:

    • Develop and implement a program to promote and increase visibility, contributions, and interest in the sport. Cultivate donor relationships.

    • Maintain relationships and work collaboratively with area golf courses.

    • Work with area media.

    • Administer a program for maintaining continuing communication with former athletes.

    • Keep current with the sport and related areas.

     

    Perform related duties as required.

     

    Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of successful experience coaching golf at a college or professional level. Qualifications include strong communication and interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, strong work ethic, and commitment to the academic success of the student-athletes.

     

    _Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements._ **DESIRED REQUIREMENTS**

    Three years of experience as a Head Coach at NCAA DI program with demonstrated athletic and academic success.
