Admissions has an outstanding opportunity for an Admissions Advisor to join their team.
Embedded as an Academic Advisor at Pierce Community College and an Admissions Advisor at University of Washington Tacoma (UWT), the person in this role will advise, recruit, and create programming to support students interested in transferring from Pierce College to University of Washington Tacoma.
The Advisor implements an advising and recruitment plan for Pierce College to UWT transfer students. The advisor will assist students in course selection, understanding admission requirements, and navigating the transfer application and enrollment process. The advisor will deploy a personalized approach to ensure high application and yield rates. The advisor works closely with campus stakeholders at both Pierce College and UW Tacoma to execute strategies to meet mutually established enrollment goals. The advisor reviews and makes admissions recommendations for undergraduate admission applications.
The Advisor has significant impact on Pierce College transfer student outreach and recruitment for University of Washington Tacoma leading to the attainment of overall enrollment goals.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Admissions Counseling and Outreach (50%)
+ Develop and implement programs and activities in support of Pierce students interested in transferring to UW Tacoma, to include but not limited to workshops, presentations, and campus visits.
+ Collaborate with the appropriate Pierce/UWT campus colleagues to develop and implement innovative recruitment-based programs and activities.
+ Generate applications and enrollments through the cultivation of relationships at Pierce College to meet established goals.
+ Counsel prospective undergraduate students about the educational opportunities available at the University of Washington Tacoma and the admissions process; deploy a personalized approach to ensure high conversion/yield rates.
+ Participate in on-campus recruitment events such as preview days, open house events, and daily tours.
+ Provide prospective UWT students with admissions counseling via in-office visits, email, virtual and telephone appointments.Academic Advising (50%)
+ Advise prospective and currently enrolled Pierce College students interested in transferring from Pierce to UWT regarding academic programs, degree requirements and transfer requirements.
+ Monitor academic success, Pierce degree completion and transfer processes.
+ Assist students in clarifying educational and career goals.
+ Be well versed in UWT and Pierce policies and procedures, keeping abreast of changing transfer information in order to advise students about the most current requirements.Other Duties as Assigned
+ Assist with the daily operations of the Office of Admissions including answering phones and responding to email and chat inquiries
+ Assists with the review of undergraduate admissions applications **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Education or Related Field and at least two years of relevant experience _Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration._ **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
+ Must be people-oriented and enjoy working with high school and college students as well as parents and college faculty
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Confidence in speaking publicly to diverse audiences of varying size
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, use multiple systems, and effectively transition between tasks
+ Functional knowledge and comfort with the use of the Google suite, Microsoft Office, and database software tools **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Experience working with diverse adult, young adult and youth populations
+ Speak, write, and read in a language other than English with the interest in utilizing language skills to assist prospective students and families.
+ Experience using a CRM, specifically Technolutions Slate
+ Experience using CTC Link
