The Department of Management at Russell Sage College invites applicants to apply for a full-time Assistant Professor position to begin August 2025. The courses are taught in a traditional classroom (in-person) format. This is a nine-month faculty appointment. The School offers undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Sports and Recreation Management, and master's degrees in MBA, Organization Management and Health Services Administration. The person in this position will be expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level.
The teaching load for this position is twenty-one (21) credits per academic year and will be split over two semesters. At the undergraduate level, this full-time Assistant Professor will teach Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Financial Management. There are various opportunities to teach electives such as Individual Taxation, Accounting Information Systems, Financial Literacy, and Contemporary Business. This full-time position, on an as needed basis, may teach courses in Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. At the graduate level, this full-time Assistant Professor will teach Financial Management.
Faculty Responsibilities
+ Teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, engaging, advising and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds in the learning process, responding to student questions, and holding office hours;
+ Provide input on curriculum and new course development to ensure delivery of quality programs.
The estimated base academic year salary range for this position is $70,000- $75,000, commensurate with experience.
Job Requirements:
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's Degree or higher (M.S./MBA/PhD or DBA) in accounting or closely related field.
+ 1-3 years college-level teaching experience in accounting and/or professional work experience in accounting. While CPA licensure is preferred, it is not required.
+ The ability to teach a wide variety of accounting courses.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
