The Product Design Prototyping team at Metaverse organization is looking for an experienced, hands-on product design leader with people management skills and strong technical expertise. The ideal candidate is an experienced product design leader who flourishes working in an ambiguous technology space at the front end of VR & MR products and tools. This position will afford you the opportunity to explore multiple facets of supporting VR & MR prototypes, interfaces, inputs and tools.You will become part of a well established prototyping team and mentor prototypers across our overall team, including work for multiple devices and technologies in MR & VR, with a heavy focus on end user experience and internal prototyping tools. As a manager, you will be expected to lead product design prototypers with different specializations from 3D software development, prototyping, game design, to interaction design, and guide them so that they are able to do the best work of their careers. You will be expected to use your full range of product development experience and design skills to raise the quality of the outcome of your team.

    Product Design Manager - Metaverse Responsibilities:

    1. Identifies and frames up new projects and opportunities. Improves processes to help the organization be more effective.

    2. Lead a prototyping team to demonstrate strong technical craft and level of detail in design, elevating the product experience with their work.

    3. Support the team in developing solutions efficiently, showing mastery of iteration. Takes responsibility for all the dimensions of quality (level of detail, stability, and performance) for the prototypes created by the team.

    4. Pro-actively nurture a team culture that cares and pays attention to the full product journey (concept, test, shipping, updating).

    5. Lead the team in the creation of prototyping tools that enables others and able to generalize work into systems/components that other prototypes benefit from.

    6. Lead the creation of scalable architecture for larger or collaborative prototypes that enables quick iteration for themselves and others.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    7. 4+ years experience shipping, or incubating 3D real time experiences or tools

    8. 2+ years experience building, managing or leading teams of design prototypers, designers, technologists and/or front end engineers

    9. Experience with real-time 3D design or development (i.e., Unity, Unreal, WebGL, etc)

    10. Proven experience to work effectively across organizations

    11. Proven problem solving experience and experience overcoming challenges

    12. Proven experience in creating or leading the creation of prototypes that intersect all qualities of the user experience (look and feel, Motion, level of detail, usability, and performance)

    13. UI/Interaction development experience in a 3D product

    14. Experience working on interdisciplinary teams, working effectively across domains, skilled at brainstorming big ideas, has product design sense, works well in ambiguous technology areas, has an eye for detail, and is skilled at working on a variety of software systems and wearing a lot of hats.

    15. Skilled at ramping on new tools and systems quickly, and can demonstrate a mastery (or past experience) of developing/supporting/using prototyping tools.

    16. Experience with delivering 0-1 products from concept stages to launch

    17. At least 1 VR product in your portfolio

    18. Experience to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments

    19. Game or interaction development experience across multiple surfaces (console, mobile, PC, VR, AR)

    20. Experience driving a feature-driven development roadmap and prioritizing a backlog

    Public Compensation:

    $165,000/year to $231,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
