    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking a dedicated and innovative faculty member to join our esteemed Endocrinology program. This tenure-track position will focus on developing a high-quality thyroid clinical program aimed at attracting patients from various regions and enhancing UTMB's reputation in thyroid oncology.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    + **Clinical:**

    + You will involve direct Endocrinology patient care with five weekly clinic sessions focusing on advanced thyroid cancer cases, potentially expanding to additional Endocrinology diagnoses. You will also be responsible for holding two thyroid biopsy sessions per month while teaching fellows. Additionally, you will participate in a rotation of Endocrinology inpatient consults and weekend consult coverage, providing comprehensive care and contributing to a team dedicated to high-quality patient outcomes.

    + **Research** :

    + You will provide essential research samples and contribute to groundbreaking studies in thyroid oncology.

    + **Program Development:**

    + You will be tasked with the development and growth of the thyroid clinical program, attracting patients from across Texas. You will collaborate with the existing cancer program at UTMB to establish a premier thyroid clinical program and participate in tumor boards.

    + **Education:**

    + You will play a pivotal role in educating the next generation of medical professionals. You will teach and mentor medical students, internal medicine residents, and endocrinology fellows, fostering their development and nurturing their clinical skills.

    _MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:_

    + Proven expertise in thyroid oncology and endocrinology.

    + Commitment to clinical excellence, research innovation, and educational leadership.

    + Education: MD degree or equivalent.

    + Training, Certification, & Licensure:

    + Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship program.

    + Completion of an Advanced Thyroid Oncology Training Program.

    + Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.

    + Eligibility for Texas medical licensure.

    SALARY:

    Commensurate with experience.
