    Job Summary:

    At CABVI, we rely on an accurate financial system to drive our business forward. The Accounting Assistant keeps the system running smoothly by providing timely and accurate preparation, calculation, and reconciliation of various transactions and processes for our accounting department.

     

    The role will perform accounting and administrative activities required to ensure accurate and timely presentation of accounting transactions. This person will be assisting in day-to-day accounting processes as well as the month end and year-end financial close, and ad hoc projects.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Maintain and update accounting records and files.

    + Prepare bank deposit and upload via online banking platform.

    + Process credit applications and prepare credit limits for approval by management.

    + Setup customers in ERP system

    + Enter daily and monthly journal entries for various general ledger accounts.

    + Support Accounts Payable by prepping checks for signature and filing invoices

    + Monitor A/R inbox and direct emails to appropriate personnel in a timely manner

    + Review, Generate and send accurate and timely invoices/credits to customers/clients ensuring compliance with contract terms and company policies.

    + Identify, monitor and investigate errors in EDI transmissions.

    + Generate and distribute all monthly accounts receivable statements to customers.

    + Process customer credit card payments.

    + Prepare monthly bad debt reports using Aging Reports.

    + Participate in cross-training initiatives to gain exposure and support other areas of finance.

    + Assist with year-end closing processes and financial audit.

    + Participate in special projects as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    + Associate degree in accounting or a related field preferred

    + Minimum 2 yrs work experience providing transferrable skills to include basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

    + Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    + Excellent organizational skills

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    + Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet department deadlines.

    + Confidentiality and integrity
