    Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid Level Pipefitter to support full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels/vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft/vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels/vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

    Successful candidates will demonstrate the following

     

    + Three (3) to Seven (7) years of experience in plumbing and pipefitting acquired through formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. This includes:

    + Layout

    + Cutting

    + Welding, brazing, soldering

    + Threating pipe with stocks and dies

    + Bending pipe

    + Assembly of various fluid systems including water, gas, or hydraulic fluid

    + Testing finished installations for quality

    + High school Diploma, trade/industrial school graduate, or GED equivalent required.

    + Current Secret Clearance

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

    + Related military experience

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Mid Level Pipefitter installs or repairs auxiliary fluid systems including include raw water, potable water, engine exhaust, fuel, lube oil, air conditioning/handling, compressed air, heating, all fluid systems, water, steam, gas or other types of pipe and pipefitting systems in support of NSWCCDN's watercraft programs.
