    Description:

    Shenandoah Community School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Full Time Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Requirements Current Iowa Teaching Certificate or ability to obtain one through the Iowa BOEE. Demonstrating an understanding of the unique needs of special education students and a strong desire to work with K-8 students. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to: Plan, provide or facilitate the academic instruction, behavior accommodations and/or the health needs according to Students IEPs. Collaborate with other Special Education and General Education teachers. Effectively use knowledge of strategies to meet the behavior and academic goals of special education students and Building Initiatives. Building relationships with students, staff, and parents. Accept feedback regarding implementation and use feedback to implement changes to instruction. Work with Behavior and Learning Disabilities - mild, moderate, severe. Manage difficult behavior and maintain students exhibiting their problems in a classroom setting, while providing instruction and positive reinforcement.
