Join the Pine Acres Team!! Quality Assurance and Infection Preventionist Job Summary:

Leads, guides and directs the quality assessment and assurance program and performance improvement with established facility policies and procedures to provide appropriate care and services to residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities which are considered essential functions of the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

+ Establishes administration, procedure, and control of medications under direction of pharmacist.

+ Responsible for execution of patient care policies in absence of physician.

+ Assists in providing for the spiritual, psychological, and social needs of patients.

+ Serves as consultant on admitting and discharge policies and procedures

+ Identifies and solves departmental and personnel problems.

+ Oversees the supply and equipment needs for the nursing department to see that units are adequately stocked and maintained.

+ Performs duties of Staff Nurse whenever and wherever required and on-call for emergencies.

+ Oversees an Infection control and skin program and ATB stewardship.

+ Conducts QA and other required audits and p repares/submits reports while maintaining statistics .

+ Manages an effective resident restorative program.

+ Must practice and promote positive attitude, leadership skills, and customer service.

+ Develops and maintains nursing objectives and standards; establishing policies and procedures; writing job descriptions.

+ Provides oversight and education of total patient care plans for individual patients and performing duties of Staff Nurse whenever necessary.

+ Will be in on call nursing rotation.

Qualifications:

Education

+ Registered nurse, current in the state of Iowa or the ability to attain licensure.

+ Active and current CPR certification

Work Experience

+ Minimum of 2-years supervisory experience in a hospital or post-acute care facility, including geriatric and/or psychiatric nursing.

+ Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing care.
