Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Instructor/Assistant Professor in Family and Consumer Sciences Education will teach, advise, and supervise undergraduate students majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Family and Consumer Sciences Extension and Community Leadership Track.

+ Teach undergraduate/graduate FCS education courses on-campus and online

+ Assist with statewide initiatives, including grant activities in the FCS or CTE field

+ Engage in scholarly activities, including research, presentations and service

+ Serve on departmental, college and university committees

+ Work collaboratively with University departments and the community

+ Supervising students in field placements, teacher candidates

+ Review and plan curricula

+ Advise undergraduate students

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Requirements:

Master’s degree in Family Consumer Sciences or related field is required. A PhD or EdD in Family Consumer Sciences or related field is highly preferred. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

Current teaching certification in FCS or a related occupation-based FCS pathway, or ability to attain licensure, is required. Previous teaching experience in Family Consumer Sciences or Career Technical Education required.
