Job Description

An employer is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Advise and assists with software tools and applications. Maintain, sustain, and enhance the system administration functions used to manage the electronic archive platform Metis. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports, designs and codes new software or modifies existing software to add new features. Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories. Develop and enhance robust web-based interfaces for customers to interrogate and visualize the archive. Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.

Skills and Requirements

Active TS/SCI Level Clearance

Must have a minimum 5 years MarkLogic & XQuery XML development experience setting up development, test, and deployment environments (Technologies & Languages include: XML, XQuery, NoSQL, MongoDB, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), CassandraDB, Appache HBase, CouchDB, Redis & Google Cloud Big Table).

Must understand and have experience in an Agile environment

Experience maintaining and enhancing the ability to publish reports in the defined Extensible Markup Language (XML) schema and metadata standards Experience individual software components including Opentexts Livelink, Net Owl entity extraction, Mark Logic XML server, Enterprise class web servers, Apache webserver, Tomcat webserver, XQuery, XPath, extensible stylesheet language transformations (XSLT) preferred

HTML, CSS, Java web services, Java application servers, Java Web Start, and Java experience a plus.

Troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, designing, delivering, and demonstrating applications written in XQuery null
