Im excited to share information about our open Data Engineering Architect & Team Lead position at Cornerstone Information Systems. This is a strategic, hybrid role that combines hands-on technical leadership with team management. The individual in this role will lead the design and execution of scalable, cloud-based data solutionsprimarily leveraging Snowflake, DBT, and Pythonwhile also mentoring a growing team of talented data engineers. Were looking for someone who can drive architectural innovation, enforce best practices in data governance and security, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, analytics-ready data. Its a critical position that will help shape the future of our data environment and directly support our broader business objectives.
Technical Leadership
Define and implement the technical architecture for robust, scalable data solutions.
Lead the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and workflows using Snowflake, SQL, and Python.
Establish and enforce best practices for data modeling, data governance, and data security, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve the efficiency and reliability of the data infrastructure.
Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure the reliability of data operations.
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including data scientists, analysts, and business leaders, to translate requirements into actionable deliverables.
Allocate resources effectively to balance project timelines and team capacity.
Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.
Hands-On Execution
Design and implement ETL pipelines to ensure the seamless integration and transformation of raw data into actionable insights.
Conduct data cleansing, validation, and quality assurance to deliver reliable datasets for downstream applications.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for architectures, processes, and standards.
Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices to ensure the data architecture remains future-proof and competitive.

Skills and Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Masters degree is a plus. Equivalent experience and certifications will also be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or architecture roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing data architectures and leading data engineering teams.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, and Python is required.
Hands-on experience with tools like DBT, Fivetran, or similar ETL technologies.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms and scalable system design.
Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks Certifications in Snowflake, SQL, or cloud platforms are strongly preferred. null
