Job Description

Title: Assistant Controller

Type: Direct Placement/Perm

Salary: $115k - $145k (depending on total years of experience)

Insight Global is looking for an Assistant Controller, to join a leader in the Manufacturing/Packaging Industry. This person will report to and partner with the Controller, while playing a large role in the companys initiative of streamlining their Accounting Processes. Main Responsibilities Include:

General accounting functions and period-end close

Reconciliation and journal entries

Partner with different teams such as supply chain, production, and operations, providing insight and aiding in the financial decision-making processes

Maintain proper documentation in Lease Accounting software, prepare ASC 842 Lease Accounting entries, and maintain audit schedules

Assist with weekly AP/AR processing such as electronic payments, general cash maintenance, invoicing, and reporting.

Audit preparation and documentation

Frontline new and more efficient continuous improvements for the Accounting Team

Provide financial analysis and reporting for optimal company operations

Margin Analysis

Product Costing

Operational KPIs

Ensure general Accounting Team maintains GAAP compliance

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

7+ years of experience in accounting

3+ years of managerial experience, leading an accounting or finance team

Experience front lining the automation of accounting processes and process improvements

Highly proficient in Microsoft, Excel, MS Suite

Skilled in analyzing data in Excel

In-depth knowledge around GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, and period-end close

Experience with ERP upgrades and/or implementation

Strong conviction in developing others/leading a team

Bold personality and not afraid to say it like it is.

Manufacturing industry experience CPA or CMA certified

Some knowledge within treasury management null
