    Prime Air is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. We’re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems. You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history!

     

    As a Supply Chain Engineer at Amazon Prime Air, you will be at the forefront enabling Amazon’s future delivery system. You will be technical leader within the supply base manufacturing team in developing and scaling Prime Air’s manufacturing supplier network. You develop engagement models with suppliers, establish mechanisms that help identify supplier manufacturing issues, support root cause analysis and process improvement. You are a learner and doer at heart, who continuously engages across business, technical and operational teams to achieve amazing outcomes.

     

    Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    -Manage supplier performance to own quality, cost, and schedule

     

    -Create manufacturing documentation package for the supplier

     

    -Assess supplier capability to produce the product that meets rate and scale

     

    -Review and approve supplier proposed manufacturing process

     

    -Manage technical changes with supplier

     

    -Conduct supplier visits to qualify process and product

     

    -Establish and maintain performance tracking for yield, quality and parts output

     

    -Become an Amazon Prime Air product and manufacturing expert

     

    -Lead non-recurring supplier projects through the entire lifecycle from design, prototype to production, including onsite support for new product introductions and design/process development

     

    -Lead the supplier manufacturing capability assessments and onsite audits to support Prime Air’s supplier selection process

     

    -Develop mechanisms to improve and enhance manufacturing performance

     

    -Manage and coordinate product development and product launches between Prime Air and its supplier network

     

    -Collaborate with Prime Air’s manufacturing supplier network to implement instrumentation to monitor manufacturing processes

     

    -Responsible for supplier sustaining activities, including change management, design/process improvements and root cause analysis

     

    -Track and communicate project performance on qualitative and quantitative measures

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field

     

    - 2+ years experience in manufacturing and supply chain roles, specifically managing new product integration from prototype to production.

     

    - Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, including but not limited to CNC machining, Injection Molding (IJM), Casting, Forming, 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing, Composite Manufacturing, Surface Finishing, and Assembly.

     

    - Demonstrated experience collaborating with design engineers and suppliers on product development and DFx

     

    - Ability to travel up to 30% globally

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

     

    - Experience in aerospace manufacturing or similarly regulated industries

     

    - Proven experience scaling production from low-rate to high-rate manufacturing

     

    - Self-motivated with the ability to lead teams through ambiguous or complex challenges

     

    - Previous experience in Operations Program Management (OPM), Program Management (PM), Technical Program Management (TPM), or a similar role

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
