Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for planning, administering, and managing the Doctor of Health Administration ( DHA ) Program. The Associate Professor and Director of the Online DHA Program will oversee the program’s management, including strategic planning, curriculum development and improvement, instructional and faculty evaluation, faculty recruitment and selection, maintenance of accreditation, external partnership development, and day-to-day operations. The Director will also closely monitor student recruitment, tracking, and advisement.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Ensures the development of catalog narratives, syllabi, and the identification of required textbooks and the library’s collection.
2. Chairs the DHA Program Curriculum Committee and assists in curriculum development to ensure course plan alignment with course competencies and alignment with MSM mission and commitment to health equity.
3. Assists in developing course content and other curricular materials used for instruction and the benefit of MSM students.
4. Chairs faculty meetings to provide subject matter correlation, curriculum evaluation, and coordination of faculty activities.
5. Develops program policies and procedures, admission, academic progression, and graduation standards.
6. Contributes to the formation, enforcement and tracking of policies that ensure program sustainability and success and that impact student outcomes and learning.
7. Provides strategic leadership to grow the Online DHA Program.
8. Serves as the Course Director for a minimum of 2 courses
9. Oversees the Solution-Focused Capstone Project courses; assesses and recommends programmatic improvements following defined processes and protocols.
10. Promotes and markets the DHA program in collaboration with the OEEP Dean and Marketing/Communication Department.
11. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts in course design and developing new courses.
12. Leads the annual “Program Review” process, ensuring sufficient learning outcomes and other required data are gathered on a timely basis, input into appropriate templates and reviewed in a highly collaborative fashion with faculty.
13. Provides reports and/or information as needed
14. Leads accreditation review tasks, activities and reporting for the program
15. Participates in GEPH Assessment & Operations administrative activities related to the Online DHA program.
16. Works effectively and collaboratively with individuals/stakeholders to maintain and further develop the Online DHA program and related combined degrees at MSM .
17. Works with the external advisory board to build collaborative efforts
KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS , & ABILITIES :
• Doctoral degree in health administration or equivalent degree in a related field.
• Experience in health systems administration and operations management.
• Experience in teaching online courses is highly preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare organizations is highly recommended.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of doctoral course development, planning, and evaluation.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related institutional policies and procedures.
• Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with MSM employees and the public.
• Skill in managing various tasks simultaneously with competing deadlines, with minimum supervision, effectively and efficiently.
• Skill in working independently with minimum supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree. Minimum of seven years of experience working in healthcare organizations and five years’ experience teaching healthcare administration, management and policy related courses at the graduate level. Experience mentoring, advising and guiding students through graduate education programs. PC skills and knowledge of specified software, including two years experience using computers and various software packages, i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, SmartSheet, et

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment.
