    Position Summary

    Responsible for promoting a positive and successful student learning experience to increase student retention, success, and completion. Provides coaching on time management, prioritization, and accountability to students to improve MSM -life balance, foster new approaches to roadblocks, build motivation, and connect students to available resources. The coordinator provides support focusing on academic support in conjunction with faculty, staff, and administrators, supporting a diverse population by fostering a student-centered environment focused on academic excellence. This position is campus-based and is not eligible for full-time remote work. Infrequent travel may be required to collaborate with colleagues at other locations and to develop professional skills.

    Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

    + Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

    + Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.

    + Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

    + Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

    + Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse group of people.

    + Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, MSM policies and procedures.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Manage office administrative duties including but not limited to budget, vendor management and tracking, data reporting, website updates, and emails.

    + Contribute to decision-making committees when medical documentation is relevant.

    + Develop and train faculty, advisors, and others in the university community regarding policies and processes used to support learners through connecting with housing resources, community partners support.

    + Make policy and procedure recommendations to the Assistant Dean per best practices.

    + Prepare communications, responses, and other written materials for the Office of Student Success/Student Affairs.

    + Attend and support student functions and events, including assisting with advising.

    + Active participant in the department’s strategic planning, budget planning, and innovation efforts.

    + Assists in informing students or students about policies and procedures for assisting students with disabilities.

    + Serves as a resource to students, faculty/staff, and community for all student success-related efforts.

    + Assists in coordinating all office activities and performs other duties as assigned.

    + Develop and implement new initiatives to enhance and support student success.

     

    coordinate and implement outreach programming on disability-related topics for all MSM learners across degree programs.

     

    + Manages Student resolution process working across offices in support of student success.

    + Coordinates the logistics for all departmental training and community partners.

    + Assist students with accessing on-campus and off-campus resources.

    + Maintains confidential records and stays committed to diversity in an educational environment.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree

    + 0-2 years of experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    + 2-4 years of experience

    It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
