Description We are looking for a skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and lead a team of accountants in San Antonio, Texas. This role involves managing the preparation of accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving process improvements within the organization. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in financial accounting, leadership capabilities, and expertise in accounting software platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise a team of senior and staff accountants, ensuring high performance and timely completion of responsibilities.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Controller and Controller to enhance department efficiency and implement process improvements.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Conduct bank reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining accurate transaction records.
• Manage balance sheet schedules, ensuring proper expense recognition and reconciliation of activity.
• Assist in the preparation of detailed financial reports to support organizational decision-making.
• Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and implementation of best practices.
• Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Drive automation and streamlining of accounting processes to enhance productivity and efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and month-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, with experience in Sage Intacct and Workday Financials being a plus.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including creating complex spreadsheets, utilizing pivot tables, and performing data analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration across departments.
