Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team based in Palos Verdes Estates, California. In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in the local government industry, handling tasks related to accounts payable, vendor invoices, and the broader accounting system. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process invoices related to accounts payable

• Ensure proper entry of vendor invoices into the accounting system

• Monitor and maintain accurate records of accounts payable

• Ensure correct payments are made to vendors in a timely manner

• Handle full-cycle accounts payable duties

• Code invoices as per the established system

• Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to vendor invoices

• Regularly update and maintain the accounting system. Requirements • Possess demonstrable knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proven ability to approve invoices accurately and efficiently

• Must have experience in coding invoices according to the organization's standards

• Capable of entering invoices into the system with high attention to detail

• Experience in entering vendor invoices is a must

• Familiarity with local government financial procedures and regulations

• Strong communication skills to liaise with various departments and vendors

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work

• Experience working in a local government setting is a plus.
