Description

Our client, a leader in the polymer manufacturing and distribution industry, is seeking a highly skilled Rail Supervisor to join their team in Channelview, TX. As a Rail Supervisor, you'll play a critical role in managing and optimizing the company’s rail logistics while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive rail and logistics expertise, maintain strong relationships with key rail partners such as Union Pacific, and contribute to the seamless operation of their rail and distribution operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all aspects of rail logistics, including the coordination and timely movement of products via rail to meet business objectives.

Monitor and manage demurrage to ensure minimal railcar detention costs for the company.

Work closely with Union Pacific and other rail providers to establish and maintain strong, productive relationships.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing rail logistics and transportation.

Develop and implement strategies to improve rail logistics efficiency while supporting broader supply chain initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and distribution, to optimize rail movement in support of company goals.

Act as a liaison between the organization and external stakeholders, including rail carriers and regulatory agencies.

This role is paying up to 110K plus bonus and benefits working 100% in office.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements:

5+ years of experience in logistics and rail operations, preferably within the polymer, manufacturing, or distribution industries.

Strong understanding of demurrage management, compliance, and rail regulations.

Proven experience building and maintaining successful relationships with rail providers, including Union Pacific.

Knowledge of supply chain fundamentals with a focus on rail transportation logistics.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or a related field.

Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

Direct experience in the polymer industry or managing rail movements for a manufacturing or distribution operation.

Strong analytical abilities to monitor rail costs, identify trends, and implement solutions that add value and reduce expenses.

Knowledge of Lean or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
