Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to lead and oversee the accounts payable team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a passion for optimizing financial processes. As a vital member of the finance department, you will ensure timely and accurate payment processing, foster collaboration with vendors and internal teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide the daily operations of the accounts payable team, including invoice review, expense coding, and approval processes.

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all invoices and payment runs, including daily carrier payments.

• Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and prepare periodic reports and analysis to support financial decision-making.

• Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.

• Reconcile vendor aging statements and ensure accounts are up-to-date.

• Develop and implement best practices for accounts payable operations, including process improvements and documentation.

• Provide training and mentorship to accounts payable staff to ensure team proficiency and adaptability.

• Address escalated inquiries from vendors and internal teams, ensuring prompt and thorough resolution.

• Manage vendor and carrier records, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

• Support ad hoc projects and requests related to accounts payable functions. Requirements • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.

• Proficiency in Excel with advanced capabilities; familiarity with Business Central software is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and create detailed documentation.

• Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of accuracy in managing financial data.

• Problem-solving expertise, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, to maintain relationships with vendors and team members.

• Leadership experience with proven ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively.

• Transportation industry experience or operational/customer service background preferred but not required.
