    **Job Title:** Truck Garage Supervisor

    **Reports to** : Maintenance Superintendent

    **Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Truck Garage Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and repair of all company vehicles, machinery, and grounds. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diesel mechanics, semi-trailer maintenance, grounds keeping, and the operation and upkeep of Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) machinery. This hands-on role requires excellent technical knowledge, organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

    Job Responsibilities:

    **1. Vehicle, Trailer and Machinery Maintenance:** Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain PIT machinery such as pay loaders, forklifts, and other heavy equipment. Supervising and performing maintenance and repairs on company diesel trucks, reefer and dry van trailers, dock plates, and vehicles. Knowledge with service doors and overhead doors a plus.

    **2.** **Grounds Keeping Duties:** Oversee the upkeep of company property inside and out, including but not limited to parking lots, Truck garage, and landscaping (all seasons including snow removal)

    **3. Team Leadership:** Lead and manage a team of mechanics, technicians providing training, guidance and performance evaluations. Delegation of tasks and coordinating work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects also required.

    **4. Inventory and Budget Management:** Maintain inventory or tools, parts and supplies necessary for repairs and grounds keeping while monitoring and managing the department’s budget to ensure cost effective operations.

    **5. Record Keeping:** Document work orders, and maintain accurate records for all maintenance, repairs and inspections completed.

    Qualifications:

    Technical certification or associate degree in diesel mechanics or related field preferred

     

    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in diesel mechanics, and equipment upkeep.

     

    Familiarity with grounds keeping practices and facility maintenance.

     

    Proven leadership and team management skills

     

    Valid driver’s license

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs) as needed

     

    Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor settings

     

    Ability to stand, walk, bend and kneel without limitation for extended periods.
