In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in machining parts on manual or CNC machines, vacuum forming and hand trimming plastic parts, fabrication of sheet metal details and spot weld assembly operations.     Main Function Responsibilities

    • Work from complete blueprints and other written and verbal instructions.

    • Responsible for fabrication of basic development, CDR and Show Seat and Test components with or without the aid of tooling.

    • Set up machines to close tolerances may be required.

    • Prepare various parts to match customer Trim and Finish definition may be required.

    • Maintain a high quality of workmanship and assumes responsibility for work performed in assigned duties.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    A. Education & Qualification

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge

    • Two years of experience working in manufacturing or related environment required.

    • Experience working in an experimental / prototype environment, or manufacturing setting dealing with modifications to designs, components, or assemblies is preferred.

    • Combination of related education, certifications, licenses and experience may be considered in lieu of minimum required working experience.

    C. Professional Skills

    • Must be able to learn to read and interpret blueprints

    • Some knowledge of CAD systems is preferred.

    • Experience with measuring tools, micrometers and calipers is required.

    • Experience with manual machining equipment is preferred.

    • Experience with NC programming is preferred.

    • Computer knowledge: Microsoft excel is preferred.

    • Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.

    • Ability to read and review written communication.

    • Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

    D. Behavioral Skills

    • Must have the ability to self-motivate and perform at a high level of intensity under close supervision.

    • Must be dependable

    • Attention to detail

    • Works well as a productive team member

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

    Physical Demands:

    • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.

    • Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds are required during tasks related to the job.

    • Must wear safety shoes and eye protection.

    • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.

    • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.

    • Ability to differentiate between components.

     

    Work environment: The work environment includes manufacturing shop setting with equipment and noise.
