The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing support in various functional areas of a human resources department. This includes recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee and labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development, and training. The role involves familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. The HR Generalist performs a variety of tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, and typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Additionally, the HR Generalist is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and managing safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and safeguard employee health.
Responsibilities
+ Track employee headcounts weekly for reports to Plant Operations Manager and Production Manager for loading of manning table for production work.
+ Administer temporary employee hiring through a temporary employment agency, track termination of temporary employees, maintain spreadsheets for performance and payroll, run ads in local newspapers and websites for hiring employees, and approve billing statements.
+ Perform telephone interviews and set up interviews for potential new hires.
+ Track, administer, and approve Paid Time Off, Family Medical Leave of employees, short- and long-term disability claims.
+ Responsible for Worker’s compensation OSHA log, employee injuries, and follow-up with providers, insurance companies, legal proceedings, and regulatory analysis reporting to the government.
+ Administer, track, and update spreadsheets for yearly employee performance reviews.
+ Update job descriptions and employee wages through an online human resources program.
+ Responsible for monthly safety committee meetings, safety training of employees, and spreadsheet tracking.
+ Follow up on training and suggestions for a safer working environment and repairs of facility and equipment.
+ Meet with OSHA inspectors, risk control insurance tours of the facility, fire, and sprinkler protection vendors.
+ Aid supervisors with company policies, procedures, attendance tracking, and employee disciplinary actions.
+ Perform fiscal year-end inventory duties and serve as a bonded notary public for the company.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree or higher
+ 1 or more years of generalist experience in a related field
+ Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook software

Work Environment
The position is onsite from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime if needed. The work environment includes technologies and equipment relevant to human resources and safety management.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
