Quality Assurance Technician

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our Quality Assurance department by ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including SQF, GMP, HACCP, and safety protocols. The QA Technician will perform daily audits, microbiological testing, sample management, and assist in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of lab areas and equipment.
This role directly supports our mission of providing high-quality products in a safe, controlled environment, and will work collaboratively across departments to ensure excellence in food safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct daily QA audits to verify compliance with quality and safety procedures.
+ Perform microbiological plating, coliform testing, WPN, CO₂, and antibiotic confirmation testing.
+ Monitor pond and environmental conditions as part of routine quality control.
+ Perform powder packaging seal checks and sample pulls for customer evaluation.
+ Conduct swabbing and air quality monitoring for sanitation verification.
+ Calibrate lab equipment and instruments per schedule and documentation requirements.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory and QA workspaces.
+ Prepare and maintain documentation including quality reports, calibration logs, and procedural updates.
+ Ensure GMP, HACCP, SQF, and safety policies are followed and enforced at all times.
+ Manage and maintain laboratory tools, supplies, and equipment.
+ Collaborate with production and operations teams to support quality objectives.
+ Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned by QA leadership.
Qualifications:
Required:
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Food Science, or related field.
+ OR 5+ years of relevant lab/QA experience in food or dairy manufacturing if no degree.
Preferred:
+ Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., SQF, HACCP, GMP).
+ Experience in a food manufacturing or dairy processing environment.
+ Strong understanding of laboratory practices and microbiological techniques.
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
+ Ability to follow written procedures and complete detailed documentation.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
