Job Title: Design Engineer II
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer II to independently demonstrate engineering principles and application skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for selecting techniques to solve complex problems, analyzing and troubleshooting systems, summarizing and drawing conclusions from test results, and coordinating engineering tests and experiments. The role requires assessing the feasibility of proposed engineering evaluations, influencing design direction, and applying detailed knowledge of customer needs. Additionally, the candidate may train or provide work direction to technicians and entry-level engineers.
Responsibilities
+ Select techniques to solve complex problems by understanding, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex systems.
+ Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex test results.
+ Design and coordinate complex engineering tests and experiments.
+ Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment.
+ Self-manage time and complete all tasks with minimal guidance.
+ Influence design direction across a project.
+ Apply detailed knowledge of vaguely defined customer needs to work products.
+ Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and entry-level engineers.
+ Compliantly utilize the design control process for Design and Development as part of Product Realization.
+ Lead the creation and/or maintenance of R&D deliverables and contribute to proper records organization within the PLM system.
+ Seek the most efficient application of regulations to projects.
+ Work with existing vendors and seek new vendors.
+ Use engineering principles and techniques in areas such as statics, strength of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, kinematics, dynamics, statistics, IP, test method development, medical device design, process technology, engineering analyses (CFD, FEA, Multi-Physics, etc.), Design of Experiments, and clinical and pre-clinical med device design standards and regulations.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering
+ Experience in Design Input, Design Output, Design Validation Documentation, and Design Verification Documentation
+ Proficiency in mechanical design and R&D
+ Knowledge of medical device design and standards
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Design of Experiments and engineering analyses (CFD, FEA, Multi-Physics, etc.)
+ Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
The role offers 2 weeks of PTO and 10 paid holidays. The work involves using various engineering principles and techniques, and the environment emphasizes compliance with design control processes and efficient application of regulations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
