1st Shift MIG Welder

Job Description

This is a 1st shift fabrication opening from 7:00am to 3:30pm. The role involves welding on a variety of different types of metal, primarily using MIG welding techniques. The position requires a welder who can maintain a strong, steady bead throughout the entire weld to ensure a clean and smooth finish.

+ Perform MIG welding on various types of metal including 14 gauge steel, quarter inch, heavy steel.

+ Execute vertical and horizontal types of welds.

+ Maintain a continuous weld for beads as long as 6 feet.

+ Ensure strong, steady beads to avoid porosity in the welds.

+ Perform minor TIG welding as needed.

+ Work independently on welding assignments.

Essential Skills

+ Fabrication background.

+ Working MIG welding experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Blueprint reading experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a fabrication shop with 11 employees, each having their own area to weld. Employees report to the plant manager on the floor. The environment requires individuals who can work independently on their welding assignments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamilton, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
