Job Title: Production Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Production Technician where you will be responsible for the assembly and production of gas fireplaces in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your tasks will include using small hand tools and light power tools to construct sub-assemblies, assemblies, and finished products. You will also be involved in the out-box packaging process and operate production equipment such as flat wash and presses.

Responsibilities

+ Use small hand tools and light power tools to construct sub-assemblies, assemblies, and finished products.

+ Perform the out-box packaging process.

+ Operate production equipment including flat wash and presses.

+ Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work station and department according to 6S standards.

+ Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment for the duration of the shift.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to learn and work at a fast pace.

+ Ability to read and comprehend standard work instructions.

+ Effective communication skills in English.

+ Minimum of one year recent experience working in a fast-paced environment (within the last 18 months).

+ Minimum of one year experience utilizing hand or power tools.

+ Ability to stand on feet for at least ten hours per day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous manufacturing or assembly experience is preferred.

+ Ability to work long hours on feet.

+ Experience with general labor, production, assembly, power tools, packaging, and blueprints.

Work Environment

You will be working in an industrial manufacturing environment where safety and quality are prioritized. The workforce consists of 350 people working in project teams of 15-25 people. The dress code includes jeans, t-shirt, and steel-toe footwear. The facility can become warm in the summer and cool in the winter. Shifts are available as follows: 1st shift from 6:00am to 4:30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 2nd shift from 5:00pm to 3:30am (Monday to Thursday).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake City, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $22.00/hr.
