    Job Description

    Clerk, Intraocular Lens-Medical & Surgical-New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai-Part Time-Days, No Weekends

     

    Responsible for the coordination and preparation of daily IOL needed for OR cases. Prepares and labels IOL ordered by surgeons. Use of Track core implant tracking system. Accepts ordered for intra-ocular lens needed and log and documented in IOL log. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Computer skill required.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED required

    + Must have office experience, knowledge on MS Excel, MS Word, MS Office

    SEIU 1199 at New York Eye & Ear, BMQ - Medical & Surgical - NYEE, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary

    Responsibilities

    + Receives/accepts all deliveries of IOL and entered all pertinent information i.e. SN and lot number in Trackcore.

    + Print Trackcore labels and attached them on the IOL box.

    + Fills IOL ordered by surgeon from our IOL inventory and/or ordered special non-stock IOL when requested.

    + Dispense IOL in the Operating Room

    + Keeps log of implanted IOL and makes correction of error if necessary.

    + Reconcile returned IOL with vendor

    + Documents all transactions according to department policy and procedure.

    + Fax implanted IOL to vendor for replacement of the implanted IOL

    + Report to OR Nurse manager for any mishandling or occurrences pertaining to IOL i.e. wrong diopter, missing IOL, open unused IOL

    + Responsible for maintenance and sanitation of receiving and storage areas

    + Report to Material’s Management

    + Report delivery issue to the Materials Management for proper disposition of issue

    + Collaborate with Director of Materials Management on cost saving initiative.

    + Work with Director of Materials Management on hospital related activities i.e. budget, TJC preparation etc.

    + Participate in Departmental initiative, meetings and other related activities

    + Maybe required to perform other duties as assigned.

    Compensation Statement

    Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $26.7746 - $29.051 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
