    Syracuse University’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in Civil Engineering. The expected start date for this position is August 2025. The appointment is for a period of three years, with the possibility of renewal.

     

    We seek candidates with extraordinary multidisciplinary expertise across multiple civil engineering fields, advanced technical abilities, and specialized expertise in civil engineering education, along with a proven record of educational leadership, curriculum innovation, and external professional engagement. Candidates must demonstrate a strong capability to teach and integrate knowledge across core civil engineering disciplines, skillsets, and tools, such as:

     

    + Geotechnical and Foundation Engineering

    + Computer-Aided Drafting, Design, and Modeling

    + Transportation Engineering

    + Civil Engineering Computational Tools (e.g., Mathcad, Python, and Excel)

     

    The department is especially interested in individuals with a multidisciplinary academic and professional background, the ability to integrate computational methods and applied engineering practices into education, and a passion for preparing students to tackle complex real-world challenges.
