    Overview

    THE ROLE:

    Reporting to the VP of Global Regulatory & Post-market Safety Affairs, this individual will be responsible for owning the development and implementation of strategy for multiple sophisticated projects led by the corporate regulatory affairs team, including process improvement for efficiency gain, multi-regional product launch and maintenance, and regulatory monitoring to advise internal stakeholders on foods, dietary supplements, and personal care products. This role will understand and translate regulatory, scientific, operational, and business knowledge into effective implementation plans, playing a major role along with other regional regulatory directors in crafting cohesive regulatory strategy and ensuring effective integration of regulatory information and ideas supporting the business.

    HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

    + Owns the development and implementation of regulatory strategy for multiple and/or sophisticated projects led by the corporate regulatory affairs team, working closely with regional regulatory affairs leaders.

    + Owns the development and management of corporate project plans and timelines and assigning and managing resources effectively to ensure all projects are appropriately prioritized and key goals are met on time.

    + Represents corporate regulatory affairs team on project teams and collaborates with regional leaders and teams to ensure unified regulatory input into product development and operations strategy.

    + Addresses complex issues, providing sophisticated regulatory and operational solutions and mentorship to cross-functional teams, and aligns communication to and from cross-functional teams and GRA leadership.

    + Coordinates early regulatory monitoring and communicates potential impact and vital actions to internal stakeholders, including product innovation, product development, marketing, legal, and scientific affairs.

    + Leads development of regulatory position on key topics.

    + Leads corporate regulatory affairs team, providing feedback to team members on skills development, mentor, and performance.

    + Participates in trade association meetings, representing the company, advocating for favorable regulatory policies and standards.

    WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:

    This position will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse team responsible for the regulatory compliance and advocacy supporting the business growth. It offers opportunity for individuals to work with cross-functional global teams working across various areas of the business, including manufacturing and supply chain, operations, product development, and marketing and external stakeholders.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position will have 4-5 direct reports who are responsible for corporate-led regulatory affairs projects.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

    + 10+ years experience in food, nutrition, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals or a related field, with 5+ years of management experience.

    + A business-minded leader, capable of strategic thinking and proposing innovative solutions to regulatory problems.

    + Able to provide regulatory leadership on a cross-functional team and work effectively with multiple regions.

    + Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with ability to impact and influence the decisions of a team. Communicates with all levels within the company and represents the Company externally.

    + Demonstrated technical expertise in affairs, including sophisticated knowledge of regulatory frameworks and external environments for food, dietary supplement, and/or personal care products.

    + Ability to successfully chip in to improving the quality of internal regulatory policies, processes, programs and initiatives.

    + A strong leader who demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of cultural considerations, embraces diversity, and continuously develops staff by providing feedback, coaching, guidance and mentoring.

    Education

    + Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Engineering, Regulatory Science, or other related subject area
