    The Katherine Thomas School is a special education school that serves students with language, learning, and sensory motor disabilities and moderate to high functioning autism.

     

    KTS has an opening for a long-term sub for the September - November 2025 time frame in a middle school Boost classroom. The Boost Teacher is a classroom support teacher who provides push-in and pull-out support to students. The Boost Teacher will have a small caseload of approximately 5 students and will support across approximately 3 classrooms. Working Hours: 8:30-4:15. EOE

    Rate is $25-$30/hour.

    Responsibilities of the STRIDE Teacher include:

    + Develop instruction following the MD State Curriculum providing necessary accommodation to meet individual, group, and program needs

    + Be an expert at modifying grade level curriculum for all students

    + Write and implement IEPs

    + Create a supportive learning environment

    + Supervise TAs

    + Work collaboratively with team members

    + Utilize technology and/or AAC devices to assist students in accessing curriculum and communication

    Required experience and education for the STRIDE Teacher:

    + Bachelors Degree

    + Experience with students on the Autism spectrum preferred

    + Team Oriented

    + Reliable
