IT Pharmacist – Pharmacy Informatics & Clinical Systems

Step into a pivotal role at the intersection of pharmacy practice and healthcare IT. As an **IT Pharmacist** , you will serve as a key clinical and informatics expert supporting and optimizing pharmacy systems that enhance medication safety, clinical workflows, and regulatory compliance.
You’ll collaborate with pharmacy leadership, clinical informatics, IT system consultants, and the Chief Medical Information Officer to guide the development and support of pharmacy IT solutions across the health system. If you’re a residency-trained pharmacist with a passion for digital health and systems optimization—this is where you can make your mark.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide clinical insight and informatics leadership for **pharmacy-related IT systems**
+ Partner with the IT Applications Manager, CMIO, and System Analysts to support implementation, maintenance, and optimization of EHR and pharmacy software (e.g., Cerner Millennium)
+ Ensure compliance with **state, federal, and accreditation standards** , including support for medication safety, formulary management, and pharmacy workflows
+ Translate clinical and operational needs into technology solutions and enhancements
+ Serve as a subject matter expert for **clinical decision support** , **medication use processes** , and **regulatory requirements**
+ Educate and collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and IT stakeholders across the organization
Minimum Qualifications:
• **Doctor of Pharmacy** degree from an accredited college
• **Current Missouri Pharmacist License** , in good standing with Medication Therapy Services (MTS) designation
• **Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency** or equivalent practice experience
• Strong foundation in **clinical pharmacy practice and hospital workflows**
• Effective prioritization and self-management skills, with the ability to work independently
• Commitment to obtain **Board Certification** (via BPS) within 2 years of assuming the position
Preferred Qualifications:
+ **PGY2 Residency in Informatics** or clinical specialty area
+ 3–5 years of experience with **hospital pharmacy IT systems and/or health system informatics**
+ Experience with **Cerner Millennium** , including Cerner Certification as a Pharmacy Analyst
+ Advanced business or healthcare degree (MBA, MHA, etc.)
+ Proven track record implementing or optimizing **EHR-integrated clinical workflows**
