    _Note: The hourly rate for this position is $46.86 - $46.86 / hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.     Responsibilities:

    + Remove deteriorated or damaged mortar from joints in brick or stone walls.

    + Mix and apply new mortar that matches the original in color and consistency.

    + Use specialized tools (grinders, chisels, trowels) to create clean, even mortar lines.

    + Finish joints to desired texture or style (concave, flush, beaded, etc.).

    + Repair damaged bricks, blocks, or stonework.

    + Replace spalled, cracked, or missing masonry units.

    + Inspect masonry structures for signs of deterioration, cracking, or water damage.

    + Identify areas needing repair or reinforcement.

    + Report issues and suggest appropriate restoration or repair methods.

    + Power wash or chemically clean brick/stone surfaces prior to tuckpointing.

    + Set up scaffolding, ladders, and safety barriers.

    + Follow OSHA safety standards and wear proper PPE.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    + Measure, mix, and match mortar to existing work.

    + Handle bricks, stone, and mortar safely and efficiently.

    + Ensure proper curing of new mortar to prevent shrinkage or cracking.

    Qualifications:

    + At least 5 years of experience in stone masonry and restoration, including tuckpointing.

    + Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform tasks in various weather conditions.

    + OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Certification.

    + Completion of vocational training or apprenticeship.

    + Tuckpointing Skills: Removing and replacing mortar joints, particularly in historic masonry, is highly valued.

    + Ability to interpret and follow blueprints or architectural drawings
