This posting will be used to fill 3 positions in the Elk River Truck Station
These positions are temporary, lasting from approximately May - October. The work schedule will be Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m..
Job Duties:** **Examples of work for this specific vacancy include but are not limited to:
+ Function: Road Surface/Roadside Maintenance
+ Perform all activities required for roadside maintenance
+ Perform all roadway surface maintenance activities
+ Service and make minor repairs to operating equipment
+ Provide traffic control
+ Perform basic construction monitoring duties and basic inspection activities
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
+ **Experience:** One (1) year of experience performing activities in snow and ice, soils, road surface maintenance, roadside maintenance, bridge maintenance, signs, or related activities (roadway maintenance, driving commercial vehicles, commercial landscaping, operating heavy equipment, or farm experience).
OR
+ **Education:** Successful completion of a Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance Program (of at least 60 semester credits; or 90 quarter credits) will substitute for one year of experience.(In order for education coursework to be considered in lieu of work experience you must submit a copy of your transcripts).
AND
+ Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no air brake restriction and tanker endorsement.
+ Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak, and understand oral and written information; communicate with employees and the general public in-person or via two-way radio and other electronic devices; and to maintain routine written logs and simple records.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Previous MnDOT experience working as a Laborer, Transportation Associate or Transportation Generalist.
