• Mortgage Group Leader I

    M&T Bank (Williamsville, NY)


    Overview:

    Provide work leadership in a Mortgage unit requiring highly specialized knowledge of the products, regulations, policies pertaining to Mortgage products, performing work of a non-routine nature and requiring independent judgment. Perform the most highly specialized clerical duties within the unit. May be responsible for process documentation/improvement, training, facilitating process innovation teams, and/or researching and resolving highly specialized and/or sensitive issues.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Monitor workflow and serves as a liaison between unit and management.

    + Research and resolve complex issues.

    + Performs the most highly specialized clerical duties pertaining to assigned department. Acts as a backup during vacations, absences, etc.

    + Assist supervisor in developing staff objectives as well as providing input in evaluation of overall performance.

    + May complete any or all of the following responsibilities:

    + Complete and/or facilitate special projects as assigned by supervisor or manager.

    + Maintain databases/spreadsheets and complete daily, weekly, or monthly departmental reporting.

    + Document internal processes and determine methods for process improvement.

    + Produce departmental procedures and conduct ongoing training to assure compliance.

    + Facilitate process innovation teams.

    + Perform other projects as assigned.

    Scope of Responsibilities:

    Works under general supervision.

    Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities:

    Train staff, prioritize and delegate daily work to staff.

    Education and Experience Required:

    A combined total of 3 years of higher education and relevant work experience in a bank operations environment.

    Education and Experience Preferred:

    Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Preferred Experience:

    Final documents knowledge (Mortgage, Final Title and Note) and experience with Investors Sonyma, GNMA, FNMA and FHLMC.
