Are you passionate about research in quantum optics? The Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team and contribute to our experimental studies. Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of nonlinear optics, plasma physics, and ultrafast lasers. Your expertise will be pivotal in advancing our research on excimer lasers for laser inertial fusion energy. Opportunities to Contribute
+ Conduct experimental research in quantum optics, focusing on excimer lasers for laser inertial fusion energy.
+ Possess expertise in nonlinear optics, plasma physics, and ultrafast lasers.
+ Contribute to IQSE projects on quantum heat engines, quantum gravity, and entanglement.
+ Write scientific papers, present at conferences, and prepare presentations.
+ Supervise, train, and mentor graduate students.
+ Assist with hosting Institute visitors and supporting IQSE-sponsored activities.
Qualifications
+ PhD in Physics, optics, or photonics.
+ Applicants should have a proven record of research in the corresponding area and strong publications. Excellent scientific writing ability and good communication skills are essential.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess
+ Expertise with nonlinear optics, plasma physics, and ultrafast lasers.
+ Knowledge of scientific programming language(s) and computer simulation.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
