Job Description
The S.I.S Business Analyst, under general supervision, will operate under the Student Information Systems (SIS) team at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. This role involves collaborating with end users to understand requirements and assisting in the documentation, troubleshooting, and configuration of enterprise business intelligence solutions to enhance university applications and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ As a member of the Banner User Group (BUG), develop plans for testing and maintenance of software systems.
+ Recommend and oversees patch and upgrade plans. Participate in testing of reports and scripts.
+ Uses the UC4/Appworx tool to automate and schedule jobs and processes
+ Oversees the troubleshooting, analysis, and escalation of technical system problems and processes.
+ Develop and implement change management plans in collaboration with the leadership team.
+ Designs, test, and deploys forms and workflows intended to improve the efficiency of business processes.
+ Collaborates with Change Management teams on communications and critical system changes.
+ Develops and maintains process guides for WebFOCUS, SQL, PL/SQL, DegreeWorks, SIS system, processing and automation.
+ Works with the departments within the university to learn business processes and identify areas where efficiencies can be attained by utilizing existing software.
+ Looking for opportunities to develop and improve business through effective use of technology.
+ Other duties assigned are relevant to the universities business processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Five years of related experience in business analysis.
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
+ Knowledge of project management, mentoring, negotiation skills, basic vendor relations, advanced client relations skills, proposal writing, business acumen, persuasive communication, team leadership skills, and quality assurance methodologies.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with Banner Student Information System
+ Experience with application life cycles, interviewing, understanding and documenting customer needs for various levels of application enhancements.
+ Understanding of programming languages (e.g. Java, SQL, Python).
+ Knowledge of a Document Management System (e.g. Laserfiche)
+ Ability to create and maintain efficient documentation for business processes
Other Requirements
+ Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality.
