Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a Prototype Technician to join their team. As a Prototype Technician, you will be part of the Cut & Sew department supporting innovative automotive seating programs. The ideal candidate will have a learner’s mindset, hands-on curiosity, and strong collaboration skills which will align successfully in the organization.

**Job Title:** Prototype Technician

**Location:** Plymouth, MI

**Pay Range:** $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

**Hours:** Monday through Friday 7:30AM - 4PM

What's the Job?

+ Manually cut intricate components to print or digital patterns while maintaining precision tolerances.

+ Learn to operate and program a CNC material cutter, performing test cuts and basic maintenance.

+ Update product lifecycle files and print the latest trim cover patterns for shop floor use.

+ Assist upholsterers in sewing and fitting covers onto seat frames, participating in fit/finish reviews.

+ Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to all safety policies while contributing to continuous improvement.

What's Needed?

+ High school diploma or GED and currently pursuing or completed a degree in Fashion Design, Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

+ Demonstrated ability to hand-cut fabric, vinyl, or leather with tight tolerances.

+ Basic computer literacy and willingness to be trained on CNC cutting software.

+ Ability to safely lift and move seat components and material rolls weighing up to 50 lbs.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
