Within Stores Security, the Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations (VMR Operations) organization is responsible for all aspects of the Vulnerability Management lifecycle across Amazon including intake, assessment, discovery, and remediation.

Key job responsibilities

The VMR Operations organization is looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager with deep technical expertise in security operations and program management to join us in building and maturing our VMR Operations programs. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic, technical, and engineering direction of VMR’s Campaign Management Program, which enables builders and drives remediation actions across Amazon. You will leverage relationships with engineers across Stores Security, business teams, and leaders throughout Amazon prioritize deliverables, escalate roadblocks, and improve organizational processes. You will build trust with Principal Engineers and executive leaders by leveraging your technical expertise to understand technical challenges, design improved solutions, and hold a high program bar. Finally, you will use your information security expertise to champion and drive risk-based decisions across complex, multi-disciplinary programs to ensure Amazon properly manages security risk.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred

- 10+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 5+ years experience in at least two of the following areas: vulnerability management, threat intelligence, security engineering, incident response, or security operations

- Understanding of SDLC and Architecture System Design with the ability to ensure functionality and tradeoffs in terms of scalability, maintainability, extensibility, performance, and security

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience building and operating Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence, Incident Response, or other security programs with hundreds of stakeholders and executive leadership visibility

- High level communication and data presentation skills that allow you to clearly, compellingly, and effectively influence audiences internally and externally, across organizational boundaries

- Experience performing risk assessments of vulnerabilities and evaluating compensating and mitigating controls in large, complex infrastructures

- Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading Technical Program Managers

- Relevant industry certifications (ISC2, ISACA, SANS/GIAC, CompTIA, Microsoft, Linux, AWS)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
