Our freight offerings/portfolio ensures our Customer’s freight is moved with the highest level of service and quality at a competitive price across multiple modes of transportation, including truckload, less-than-truckload, and intermodal. In doing this, Amazon is deeply studying customer shipping needs and building innovative, market-leading solutions that will organically attract customers towards our services.

We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights for Amazon Freight. Our ideal candidate is someone who has strong technical and analytical skills, enjoys building a new business and the ambiguity that comes with that. You should thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and won't be hindered by ambiguity. Key job responsibilities

• Generate insightful analysis, reporting, and data visualizations to answer critical business questions, proactively identify notable trends, and communicate business performance

• Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas of opportunity to drive further improvements

• Apply expertise in data mining and modeling leveraging multiple data sources to uncover unique insights, identify key performance drivers, and build predictive models

• Work backwards from your end-customer to define, design, and execute each work item with an emphasis on improved metrics, productivity, and efficiency

• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation

Basic Qualifications

- 10+ years of professional or military experience

- 5+ years of SQL experience

- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

- Experience with AWS technologies

- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
