    The Rural & Super Rural (RSR) Design Engineering team is searching for an innovative, solutions-oriented design engineer to spearhead new initiatives and develop the next generation of world-class industrial building designs.     We seek resourceful engineers who are critical thinkers and excel in cross-functional collaboration. In this role, you will work closely with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our delivery stations. Your projects will be a variety of delivery station concepts and template-based design solutions that will enhance the effectiveness of Amazon's last mile network. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment.

     

    Ability to travel 25% to interact with internal and external business, operational and technical leaders.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Lead and coordinate design efforts to develop optimal delivery station design solutions for the last mile network through equipment specification, material flow, process design and site layout.

     

    - Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors and stakeholders to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.

     

    - Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.

     

    - Provide design support for large-scale engineering projects, retrofits and building designs

     

    - Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.

    About the team

     

    RSR DE and AMZL Speed team 1) provides design support to RSR network 2) Focus on process and capacity improvement 3) Lead AMZL Speed program with the expansion plan and process improvements.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

     

    - Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment

     

    - Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)

     

    - 8+ years Experience with automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.

     

    - 8+ years Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.

     

    - 8+ years Experience in Capital project management

     

    - 8+ years Experience with concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making.

     

    - 8+ years Experience with ownership/management of engineering design projects

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field

     

    - Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
