Description
The Senior Program Manager will work within the Amazon Devices Offline Sales & Marketing - Retail Experience team and be responsible for operational budget planning and tracking, data management and analysis, and providing insights and recommendations to help drive incremental device sales. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who possesses expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis with a passion for developing reporting and delivering actionable insights to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for developing tools and mechanisms, strong financial acumen, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. This role will deliver analysis and process improvements, which will drive business decisions and result in incremental improvements for the devices business.
Key job responsibilities
* Serve as the primary liaison with the Finance team for Offline Sales & Marketing team budget inputs
* Build strong partnerships with the Offline Sales and Marketing team leads providing insightful analysis and influencing direction through use of data
* Lead OP1/OP2 budget planning processes and analysis with contribution to final reviews with leadership
* Own month end close and quarterly guidance process in partnership with Finance to ensure accurate management of purchase orders, invoices, and spend allocation
* Communicate to align all product lines to ensure cross-team budget allocation where appropriate
* Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports and analysis for leadership, surfacing opportunities and making recommendations on cost savings and reallocating funds where appropriate
* Leverage technical expertise in data management to design, build, and share executive level reporting and dashboards
* Manage large scale data projects leveraging expertise in Tableau and SQL
* Negotiate annual renewals and contracts as needed with select vendor partners
* Manage repository of financial documents including marketing agreements and contracts with vendors and retail partners
A day in the life
The Senior Program Manager works within the Retail Experience organization and supports the greater Offline Sales & Marketing team with analysis and reporting. This program manager will work cross-functionally with Field Sales, Account Managers, Channel Marketing, Product Strategy, and Finance teams to capture budget inputs, create analysis and reports, and deliver actionable insights. The program manager will manage month end close and quarterly guidance processes in partnership with the Finance team. They will leverage expertise in data management and will support other program managers with large scale data projects.
About the team
The Senior Program Manager is an integral part of the greater Offline Sales & Marketing - Retail Experience team. They are part of a team of three program managers and one team lead. The team provides support through analysis and reporting to Field Sales, Account Managers, Channel Marketing, Product Strategy, and Finance teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of data analysis experience
- 3+ years of data visualization and reports tools experience
- Experience managing accounting/finance process improvement and/or technology projects with aggressive schedules
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and forecasting
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources or related field
- 3+ years of Tableau or equivalent tools experience
- 2+ years of leading large complex programs experience
- 2+ years of vendor management experience
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in retail within consumer electronics or high-tech products background

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
