    Description

The Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) organization collectively represents some of the most critical components of Amazon’s first-class Middle Mile transportation network. Everything we do is aimed at further delighting our customers with faster, cheaper and more efficient means of receiving packages. We are building a suite of machine learning (ML) time domain products in this space and seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join our team. A successful candidate in this area should enjoy discovering and solving complicated problems; can quickly learn complex systems, likes to work with numbers, and takes pride in organizing and communicating work. If you enjoy innovating, thinking big and want to contribute directly to the success of an industry changing product, you may be a prime candidate for this position.

This position will enable high judgment, excellent analytical abilities, a creative mind to invent solutions to improve the customer delivery promise; it also offers broad exposure to various business, operational, financial, and technical teams across Amazon. You can expect to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment. If you are passionate about customer obsession, detail oriented, and systematically break down problems with ease, we would love to speak with you!

    Key job responsibilities

    - Write high-quality SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle).

    - Ability to break down and solve complex problems while actively engaging with internal partners throughout the organization to meet and exceed customer service levels & transportation-related KPI’s.

    - Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting/analysis: data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation while driving scalable solutions.

    - Understand data resources and know how, when, and which to use (and which not to use).

    - Continue to move forward in the face of ambiguity and imperfect data. Find a solution around the problem that still maintains a high analytical bar. You do not suffer from “analysis paralysis”.

    - Ability to manage through conflict with a positive, flexible and professional attitude.

    - Communicate analysis results and techniques, both verbally and in writing, clearly and confidently to peers and business partners.

    - Explain analysis results to the stakeholders through verbal and written communications.
