Description We are looking for a dedicated Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in Plantation, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in advocating for underserved client populations, providing legal expertise across various practice areas, including housing, family law, public benefits, and benefits tailored to experienced individuals. This opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with pro bono attorneys and educating stakeholders on unique military and legal issues relevant to experienced individuals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough legal assessments and client intakes to evaluate cases effectively.

• Draft pleadings, negotiate settlements, and litigate cases in areas such as housing disputes, family law, public benefits, and benefits tailored to experienced individuals.

• Represent clients in court, advocating for their rights with strong oral and written advocacy skills.

• Mentor and support pro bono attorneys, offering guidance on family law and legal matters relevant to experienced individuals.

• Manage case files using appropriate case management software to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• Educate private and public entities about military-specific legal topics and issues relevant to experienced individuals.

• Provide advice and counsel to clients, ensuring they understand their legal rights and options.

• Utilize document management tools to organize and maintain legal documentation.

• Stay updated on civil litigation practices and regulations to deliver high-quality representation.

• Handle complaints and claims administration with professionalism and attention to detail. Requirements

• Active admission to the Florida Bar is required.

• Proven experience in legal research, drafting pleadings, negotiating, and litigating cases.

• Familiarity with housing/landlord-tenant law, family law, public benefits, and legal matters related to individuals with extensive experience.

• Strong oral and written advocacy skills to effectively represent clients in court.

• Proficiency in case management software and document management tools.

• Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.

• Knowledge of legal issues affecting individuals with military backgrounds and related matters is a plus.
