Description
We are looking for an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure compliance and promote a culture of safety. This role requires strong leadership skills, analytical abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and environmental processes tailored to the organization's needs.
• Coordinate annual testing and evaluations for safety and health programs.
• Monitor and audit safety programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness, conducting regular shop inspections and hazard analyses.
• Organize and lead safety committee meetings in collaboration with the Plant Manager.
• Deliver training programs aimed at reducing workplace accidents and injuries, including safety orientations for new team members and certification courses.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring thorough follow-ups and maintaining detailed records.
• Prepare and submit reports to government agencies on environmental, health, and safety outcomes.
• Support injured employees by monitoring corrective actions and workers’ compensation claims.
• Provide expert consultation to project management teams on safety measures at job sites.
• Track and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement in environmental, health, and safety programs.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in EHS management.
• Certifications such as OSHA 500/501 are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and training skills to engage employees effectively.
• Analytical skills to assess safety data and implement improvements.
• Ability to motivate and inspire teamwork within a diverse workforce.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
