Have a passion for Law Enforcement, but still want to maintain your normal full-time career? POST certified and want to maintain your certification? The Adams County Reserve Deputies volunteer their time and talents to help the sheriff's office deliver its day-to-day law enforcement services and to assist during emergencies. All reserve deputies are required to maintain the same high standards of conduct required of any deputy sheriff. Reserve Deputies are required to work one shift per month in the following divisions of the sheriff’s office: Jail, Patrol, Detectives, Professional Standards, Training, or the Office of the Sheriff.
You must have been through a full police academy and are currently still POST certified or were previously fully certified here or in another state and have attended a refresher academy to be eligible to apply. Volunteers must be Colorado P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training) certified.
To learn more about the Reserve Deputy program, email Commander Karl Smalley [email protected] recruiting Deputy Ryan Martinez [email protected].
SPECIAL NOTE: For all applicants, this is a reminder of the original job posting where it stated: “Applicants may be excluded from further consideration at any point in the hiring process. By Sheriff’s Office policy, the reasons why an applicant is not selected for hire will not be discussed with the applicant. There is no flexibility with this policy. If an applicant receives notice of elimination from the hiring process, it simply means the applicant’s qualifications do not fit the Office’s needs at this time. This determination does not preclude the applicant from applying to other agencies.”
