Job Description

EBAD seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) specialist, reporting to the Manager, Safety & Regulatory Compliance. This position is located in Moorpark, CA. The EH&S Specialist will be crucial in promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship within our organization.

Responsibilities:

+ Perform safety & health compliance activities, including onsite audits.

+ Ensure compliance of regulatory requirements (i.e. Cal/OSHA, EPA, DoD, BATFE, DCSA, Ventura County Fire Department, etc.), including company EH&S policies and procedures.

+ Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish EH&S presence and provide collaborative support with factory stakeholders to ensure production & operational changes mitigate risks to health, safety and the environment.

+ Perform facility EH&S audits and inspections to document findings and track corrective actions to closure and prepare applicable EH&S regulatory-required reports, as necessary.

+ Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Environmental, Health & Safety management.

+ Maintain relevant EH&S logs and documentation.

+ Assist in administering and maintaining all Safety compliance programs such as Electrical Safety, Emergency Planning, Fall Protection, Fire Prevention, Hazard Communication, Hoists, Hot Work, Industrial Hygiene, LOTO, Machine Guarding, PPE, Process Safety Management, etc.,

+ Responsible for lock out Tag Out (LOTO) inspections and assuring program is been follow.

+ Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EH&S training and certification programs. Lead weekly new hire orientation safety training.

+ Support with the analysis of incident trends and use risk assessments to identify and lead continuous improvement projects to minimize injury and illness.

+ Provide proactive support to safety & ergonomic programs.

+ Observe EH&S regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or report them to the proper personnel.

+ Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.

+ Comply with all Company and EH&S procedures and policies.

+ Perform other work-related tasks as required and assigned

+ Assure Forklift program is followed and individuals are properly trained.

+ Support Facility Safety Officer (FSO), conduct Assistant Facility Officer (AFSO) responsibilities.

+ Investigates industrial accidents/incidents to help determine root cause and corrective action.

+ Support weekly department safety meetings and “Six Minutes of Safety” discussions as needed.

+ Perform additional duties related to specific area assignments.

Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an EH&S professional ideally in manufacturing, construction or oil and gas; thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DoD, DCSA, and other Federal, State, and local regulations with respect to Safety, Health, & Environment.

+ Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to outside agencies, customers, and vendors.

+ Demonstrated initiative in proactively identifying future potential safety risks and suggesting or implementing appropriate countermeasures.

+ Demonstrated ability to motivate a workforce and train in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

+ Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 per year. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data
